The first place to look is at garage sales. If people are selling gym equipment at garage sales, it is usually because they don’t use the equipment anymore, and it is taking up a ton of space. Most people really want to get rid of the equipment, so they may be willing to settle for a smaller price than they have it listed for. Don’t be afraid to haggle the price down a little. Just be prepared to haul it away that day, so if you do not own a truck, then be sure to ask your friends to allow you to borrow their truck that day.
Another great place to look for cheap home gym equipment for your home is on Craigslist. Look at the Craigslist for your city, and look in the fitness section. You can find great deals on gym equipment there. This allows you to shop from home, instead of having to drive from garage sale to garage sale. You can see pictures of the equipment, and figure out if it will work in your home gym or not. You can also usually haggle down the price a little bit, but be willing to pick up the item immediately or someone else may be interested and could buy it from them and then you’ll miss out on a great deal.
